In Hinduism, Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe, incarnates in various forms to restore cosmic order and dharma. These incarnations are known as Avatars. There are ten principal Avatars known as the Dashavatara. The first nine have already appeared, and the tenth, Kalki, is yet to come.

In the Vishnu Purana, it is stated: ‘When the practices taught in the Vedas and institutes of law shall nearly have ceased, and the close of the Kli Yuga shall be nigh, a portion of that divine being who exists in his own spiritual nature, in the character of Brahma, and who is the beginning and the end, and who comprehends all things, shall descend upon the earth. He will be born as Kalki in the family of an eminent Brahmin of Shambhala village, endowed with the eight superhuman faculties.
The Srimad Bhagavatam also elaborates on Kalki: ‘At the end of Kli Yuga, when there exist no topics on the subject of God, even at the residences of so-called saints and respectable gentlemen of the three higher varnas, and when Political power falls into the hands of the strongest, often corrupt individuals, leading to widespread misrule., and when nothing is known of the techniques of sacrifice, even by word, at that time the Lord will appear as the supreme chastiser.’
The Yuga Cycle
Hindu cosmology divides time into four Yugas or ages: Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga, and Kli Yuga. We are currently in Kli Yuga, the age of darkness and moral decline.
Duration of Kli Yuga
Kli Yuga is said to last for 432,000 years. According to Hindu tradition, Kli Yuga began after the departure of Lord Krishna around 3,102 BCE. As of now, approximately 5,126 years have passed since the beginning of Kli Yuga, leaving about 426,874 years remaining.
The Birth and Life of Kalki
Kalki is prophesied to be born in the village of Shambhala to a devout Brahmin family. His birth will mark the beginning of the end of Kli Yuga, an age characterized by darkness, ignorance, and moral decline.”
Characteristics and Mission
“Kalki will be a warrior, armed with a divine sword and riding a white horse. His mission will be to destroy the wicked, reestablish dharma, and initiate a new era of truth and righteousness, known as Satya Yuga. He symbolizes the ultimate triumph of good over evil.

The Puranas also mention that several immortal beings, or ‘Chiranjivi,’ will aid Kalki in his mission. These immortals have been blessed with eternal life and possess immense knowledge and power.
Key Immortals and Their Roles
Ashwatthama: The immortal warrior from the Mahabharata, cursed to wander the earth until the end of Kli Yuga, will join Kalki as a key general in his army.
Vyasa: The sage who composed the Mahabharata and many Puranas, will assist with his wisdom and guidance.
Hanuman: The devoted servant of Lord Rama, known for his unparalleled strength and devotion, will stand by Kalki in the battle against evil.
Parashurama: The sixth Avatar of Vishnu, who still roams the earth, will provide military training and support to Kalki.
Vibhishana: The righteous brother of Ravana, who was blessed with immortality by Lord Rama, will offer strategic counsel.
Kripacharya: The royal teacher of the Kuru dynasty, known for his mastery in martial arts and warfare, will help train Kalki’s forces.
Markandeya: The eternal sage who has witnessed multiple cycles of creation and destruction, will offer his spiritual insights and blessings.
